History

Tom Martin & Company has a proud and long history in the non-ferrous recycling industry.

Established in 1948 by Mr Arthur Hubert, Tom Martin & Company was a pioneer in the development of metals recycling in the United Kingdom.

Prior to this period, the U.K. had never had an organised recycling industry, primarily because the British Empire allowed easy access to primary metal commodities, such as copper from Rhodesia and alumina from Australia. However, following the period of post-war de-colonialisation, recycling of metals became ever more important meaning that Tom Martin & Company was able to expand rapidly in this growing industry.

Now boasting over 65 years invaluable experience in the industry, Tom Martin & Company has come a long way, developing into a truly international business with physical and trading operations in Poland, and a network of long-term and well established trading partners in every corner of the globe.

Today, Tom Martin & Company is owned by its management team - themselves with over 70 years of experience between them - whose strategy is one of continuous development and expansion of the business, by building upon the success of the past.

Established In 1948

From humble beginnings, the company now handles in excess of 50,000 tonnes of non-ferrous metals every year, from a number of facilities across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and continental Europe.
